Observability asks what is happening. Remedy asks what evidence will repair and verify it.
Remedy is not trying to become a giant general-purpose telemetry warehouse. It uses focused evidence to progress a software incident.
Observability and remediation have different jobs
Observability platforms help teams explore system behaviour across logs, metrics and traces. Remedy focuses on the subset of evidence needed to understand a defect, select a recovery or code-repair path and verify the result.
Own collectors and connected evidence
Reporter, SDK, Agent and Probes provide Remedy-native evidence paths. The connector architecture can also be designed to consume relevant incident evidence from systems such as Sentry, Datadog or OpenTelemetry without claiming to replace their full scope.
Close the incident loop
Evidence becomes valuable when it changes the outcome. Remedy preserves the line from detection through root cause, repository mapping, deterministic checks, deployment and production verification.
Different tools, different scopes
Sentry, Sentry Seer, Rollbar Resolve and Datadog each have their own product scope and may provide monitoring, debugging or remediation capabilities. Remedy is positioned around human and machine incident entry, repository-independent repair orchestration, explicitly permitted operational remediation and deterministic verification. Any future comparison page should compare these scopes precisely rather than claim that Remedy replaces every observability capability.
Frequently asked questions
Is Remedy a Datadog replacement?
No. Datadog and Remedy have different scopes. Remedy focuses on repair orchestration, controlled remediation and verification and may consume relevant external telemetry.
Can Remedy use OpenTelemetry?
OpenTelemetry is a planned connector direction; availability should be confirmed before implementation claims are made.
